Residency Special Features:   This residency offers extensive and diverse learning opportunities. It has a primary focus in multiple ICU settings including a 32-bed mixed Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit, a 32-bed Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, and a 32-bed Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit. Collaboration with multiple critical care physician groups to improve the care of critical patients through daily intervention as well as global changes made from the committee level enhances the experiential and educational opportunities for the resident.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   Eligibility for licensure in Ohio, completion of a PGY1 residency program, curriculum vitae, three letters of recommendation, and letter of intent addressing short term (2-5 years) and long term (10 years) goals as well as areas of practice of most interest to you. Site Special Features:   Riverside Methodist Hospitals is part of a multihospital system, OhioHealth. Riverside Methodist Hospital, a privately owned nonprofit institution, is Ohio's largest acute care hospital. With pharmacy programs designed to impact patient outcomes (e.g., reduced readmissions, improved medication compliance, reduced adverse events, etc.) the department has a clear focus on creating and sustaining a patient-centered medical care model. Complete unit dose and i.v. admixture services are provided from the centralized area on a 24-hour basis utilizing advanced robotic technology and automated dispensing cabinets. The department operates an established decentralized pharmacist program and satellites serving the critical care area and emergency departments. Specialties include but are not limited to anticoagulation services, cardiac rehabilitation, critical care, cardiology, outpatient congestive heart failure clinic, OB/GYN, oncology, neonatal intensive care, nephrology, neurology, outpatient infusion center, psychiatry, pulmonary medicine, and surgery. The pharmacists also participate in all code blue situations. Pharmacist participation in ambulatory care arenas includes anticoagulation, congestive heart failure, diabetes, asthma and many other areas of patient care.
