Residency Special Features:   

Our goal is to help our residents achieve their full potential as clinicians, educators, and individuals. The core clinical rotations include Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Critical Care, Medication Safety, Geriatrics, Cardiology, Transitions of Care and Pediatrics. In addition, elective rotations can be tailored to the resident's interests and include: PICU, NICU, Trauma, Neurocritical and Surgical ICU, and Coronary Care and Cardiothoracic Surgery ICU. Residents are mentored by outstanding preceptors who are committed to patient care and the training of young practitioners. There are a multitude of opportunities for teaching nurses, pharmacists and physicians, as well as serving as clinical co-preceptors for pharmacy students from Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University. Written and oral communication skills are highly emphasized throughout the program. Each resident completes an original research project and presents the results at the Eastern States Residency Conference and at the ASHP Mid-Year clinical meeting. Residents gain experience staffing in our central and decentralized pharmacies equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
