Residency Special Features:   Mayo School of Health Sciences in Rochester, Minn., offers a one-year postgraduate PGY1 Pharmacy Residency. The program is designed for practitioners who desire a broad pharmacotherapy experience that prepares the resident to provide optimal and compassionate patient care, educate self and others, optimize drug therapy outcomes through incorporation of evidence based medicine and research, and demonstrate commitment to the pharmacy profession. This program provides high-quality clinical experiences needed to create a well-rounded, fully competent pharmacist. As a PGY1 pharmacy resident you will: • Develop expertise, knowledge and skills in a broad range of therapeutics. • Contribute to a multidisciplinary health-care team offering patient-specific therapeutic interventions to optimize drug therapy outcomes. • Enhance your skills in conducting clinical research, medication use evaluations and quality improvement initiatives. • Strengthen your communication skills by presenting formal and informal lectures, writing a manuscript and leading interdisciplinary discussions. Mayo Clinic’s PGY1 Pharmacy Residency provides opportunities for advanced training in all pharmacotherapy areas with a challenging, high-quality curriculum.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   Must have from Pharm.D. from an accredited college of pharmacy, eligible for Minnesota pharmacy licensuree curriculum vitae, college transcript, personal statement, and three letters of recommendation.

Pharmacy residents work with a group of more than 60 clinical pharmacy faculty in a variety of practice settings. Residents participate in the Departments Residency Research Curriculum with full access to a departmental biostatistician, are required to obtain a teaching certificate, and participate in carrying code pagers.
