Residency Special Features:   The Mercy General Jospital/Mercy San Juan Medical Center residency is based at two hospitals that are part of a system that includes five hospitals and affiliated physician/managed care groups. Residents gain experience in varied pharmacy practice settings across the continum of care. Residency rotations include impatient areas (internal medicine, intensive care, cardiology, oncology, infectious diseases, pediatrics, trauma) primary care (anticoagulation and geriatrics) and managed care. Residents also serve as preceptors for fourth-year pharmacy students.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   Citizenship, Pharm. D. or equivalent experience, academic transcript, CV, three letters of Recommendation and a letter of interest.

Site Special Features:   Mercy General Hospital has large and high quality programs in cardiology and cardiovascular surgery. Mercy San Juan has a trauma program. Both hospitals are accredited stroke centers. The hospitals are located in northern California, near to Lake Tahoe and less than two hours from San Francisco and Napa Valley. Pharmacy and medical staff have appointments at local universities.
