Residency Special Features:   Mayo Clinic PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency provides comprehensive clinical knowledge and skills that will enable practitioners to provide quality pharmaceutical care. Key areas of instruction include acute patient care (internal medicine and critical care), ambulatory patient care, medical informatics, administration and practice leadership, medication use policy management and medication safety, pharmaceutical investigation and practice coverage. Elective rotations include cardiology, hematology-oncology, heart-lung transplant, liver transplant, renal transplant, investigational drug services, emergency medicine, nutrition support, peri-operative services and surgical services. Additional experience provided through participation in department and institutional programs and committees.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   Pharm.D. degree from an accredited college of pharmacy; two of the three references must be from a professional contact, e.g. professor, preceptor, supervisor). All candidates must register with the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Resident Matching Program. Applicants considered for an appointment will be invited to visit Mayo Clinic for a personal interview with the program director and selected faculty. An interview can be arranged only when your application file is complete. U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Immigrant Status is required for admission to the Pharmacy-Post Graduate Year One Residency. Applicants offered admission to MSHS programs must also comply with prevailing institutional policies and procedures.
