Special Program Features:
The School of Continuing Education (SCE) pharmacy technician program prepares students for an entry-level position in a community or hospital pharmacy as a pharmacy technician. The program is a noncredit program based on instructional hours that meet State Board of Pharmacy's registration requirements and ASHP accreditation standards. In the lab courses, students receive hands-on experience and learn computer applications in preparation for their externships. Students may complete the entire program and earn a career certificate from SCE in 15-18 months. Classes are held in the evening and some Saturday mornings. Student support services include counseling, tutoring, English as a Second Language classes, high school diploma program, and job search assistance.
Acceptance Requirements:
18 years of age, high school or GED equivalency or concurrent enrollment in high school, enrollment in Introduction to Pharmacy course.
