Special Program Features:
The first 15 weeks consists of seven didactic courses including, Introduction to Patient Care, Basic Math Skills, Business Communication Skills, Anatomy & Physiology for the Health Professional, Introduction to Computers, Medical Terminology, and Medical Law and Ethics. Students attaining a grade average of 80% or above move into Professional Level Courses for 10 weeks of Pharmacology Lecture, Dispensing Lab, Sterile Products Lab Career Exploration and Pharmaceutical Calculations. Students will then be placed for 4 weeks each in an inpatient and an outpatient setting for a total of 256 hours of clinical experience in the Clarian system or one of several other hospitals.
Acceptance Requirements:
High school diploma or GED equivalency, interview, two recommendation forms, high school transcript, proof of immunizations, current TB test, pass background check and ability to do procure state technician-in-training license.
General Location Training Sites:
Clarian Health Partners in and around the Indiana University, Riley and Methodist hospitals, and outpatient pharmacies around the city.
