Residency Special Features:   The PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency offers two positions annually and is affiliated with SIUE School of Pharmacy. The program is designed to meet the interests of the residents by offering over fifteen clinical and academic experiences. Core rotations are comprised of Internal Medicine, Advance Internal Medicine, Administration, Ambulatory Care, Distribution/Orientation, Drug Information and Medication Safety. Elective opportunities in a variety of settings include, but are not limited to Cardiology, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, Infectious Disease, Informatics, Oncology, Pain Management, Pediatrics and Psychiatry. In addition, the program offers a Teaching Certificate in association with the SIUE School of Pharmacy. Completion of a major project suitable for publication is required along with a presentation at the Great Lakes Residency Conference. St. Elizabeth’s Hospital serves over 40 different medical specialties and is the primary practice site for St. Louis University Family Medicine Residency program. Established in 1875, St. Elizabeth’s Hospital is a community teaching hospital located in Belleville, Illinois, a suburb of St. Louis. St. Elizabeth’s is an affiliate of the Hospital Sisters Health System, a 13-member hospital system based in Springfield, Illinois.
