Residency Special Features:   The PGY1/PGY2 Pharmacotherapy residents provide comprehensive pharmacy services in the outpatient primary care and inpatient general medicine settings. Outpatient care is provided at Health West ISU, a federally qualified community health center. Inpatient care is provided at Portneuf Medical Center. Residents participate in multidisciplinary rounds, work hand-in-hand with family medicine medical residents to improve patient outcomes, engage in quality improvement/research projects, and provide clinical and didactic teaching to medical residents and health professions students. Learning experiences include ambulatory care, internal medicine, pediatrics, critical care, managed care, and academia with a teaching certificate. 
 
Fringe Benefits:   Residents receive health insurance, 15 days annual leave, 11 holidays, employee/spouse tuition reduction if applicable, and financial assistance for meetings. Lunch is provided most days as part of lunch didactic series. 
 
Special Requirements for Acceptance:   Completion of ACPE-accredited Pharm.D. program, eligibility for licensure in Idaho, college transcripts, CV, letter of intent, three professional letters of reference.

Site Special Features:   The Pharmacotherapy Residency is administered by  Idaho State University. The program offers outstanding collaborative clinical practice, teaching, and research opportunities within a rural family medicine residency program. Staffing requirements take place at Bengal Pharmacy, a community telepharmacy serving rural communities in Idaho. Pocatello is located approximately 150 miles north of Salt Lake City and 150 miles south of Yellowstone. Some of the nation's best skiing, hiking, biking, camping, climbing, hunting, and fishing areas are nearby.
