Residency Special Features:   Centura Health’s St. Anthony Hospital PGY1 Residency will provide pharmacists the tools for general clinical practice. Pharmacists will develop professional responsibility, be prepared to train and teach future pharmacy providers, learn to promote their own professional growth and maturity, and develop leadership practice skills they can apply to their chosen area of the pharmacy profession.

St. Anthony hospital has 224 licensed beds, 76 ICU beds, 42 Emergency room beds and 14 surgical suites.  Core rotations include general medicine, transitions of care, ambulatory care, infectious disease, and critical care.  Longitudinally, residents have rotations in pharmacy operations, academia, and project management.  The resident will have the opportunity to earn a teaching certificate by the end of the year, and will do a year long project that will be presented at a regional Residency Conference in the spring of the academic year.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   PharmD or BS from an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy, eligible for licensure in the State of Colorado; Pharmacy license by September of the ASHP Resident academic calendar year. Participation in the PhORCAS and the Pharmacy National Match Services. Submission of material must include: -- Letter of intent (2 page max): at a minimum address the following - 1) Motivation for doing a PGY1 residency, 2) Short and long term career goals 3) Specifically, why St. Anthony Hospital, 4) Your strengths and weaknesses at this point in your pharmacy career. -- Curriculum Vitae -- Official Pharmacy School transcript(s) -- three letters of recommendation (1 pharmacy preceptor, 1 pharmacy professional contact (known you for more than half your pharamcy education), and 1 employer in pharmacy).
