Residency Special Features:   

The pain management and palliative care program provides the resident with a comprehensive curriculum of chronic pain, acute pain, palliative care, and pain stewardship. This program is unique in its ability to collaborate with a variety of care teams in the academic setting including trauma, palliative care, surgery, orthopedics, anesthesiology, and primary care. Throughout the year, the resident will also participate in practitioner and community education initiatives, controlled substance monitoring, policy development, and research activities.

UF Health Jacksonville offers a full range of inpatient and ambulatory care services including a level I trauma center and a level III neonatal ICU. As a major affiliated teaching hospital and the urban campus of the University of Florida Health Science Center, UF Health Jacksonville serves as a major training site for students in pharmacy and other disciplines. The Pharmacy Department utilizes the hospital's EHR system and provides comprehensive pharmaceutical services through highly skilled pharmacy practitioners, an automated patient medication system, and decentralized practice. Other services include an accredited poison information center, a drug information center, and an onsite medical library.
