The PGY1 pharmacy residency program provides residents with an exceptional opportunity to progressively develop their clinical skills and become pharmacy practice leaders. The program provides a balanced set of inpatient and outpatient learning experiences with additional opportunities in education, research and administration. Available learning experiences include administration, anticoagulation, cardiology, drug distribution, drug information, emergency medicine, endocrinology, geriatrics, hematology/oncology, home based primary care, infectious disease, informatics, internal medicine, Medical ICU, medication safety, pain management, primary care, psychiatry, rheumatology, surgery ICU, and teaching/education. The pharmacy residents receive a clinical instructor appointment with the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy and have the option to participate in a teaching certificate program.

Fringe Benefits:   The resident is eligible for health benefits, paid vacation, sick leave, uniforms, some professional meeting fees and travel reimbursement.
Special Requirements for Acceptance:   Application via PhORCAS (letter of intent, academic transcript, curriculum vitae, 3 personal letters of recommendation). U.S. Citizenship, a Pharm.D. degree, licensure in any state and an interview required.
