Residency Special Features:   The content and format of the residency is individualized to meet the needs of the resident. Residents are given the opportunity to select up to 8 elective rotations in addition to the 4 core rotations which includes a month of Orientation, Adult Internal Medicine, Practice Management, and Critical Care. Electives include over 17 choices: Infectious Diseases, Emergency Medicine, Oncology, Pediatrics, Ambulatory Care, Managed Care, Nephrology/Transplant, Academia/university Teaching, Drug Information/Drug Policy, Research, and 5 Critical Care Specialities (Medical, Cardiac, Surgical, Pediatric, Neonatal). Additional emphasis is placed on mastering skills needed to successfully practiceantimicrobial stewardship, anticoagulation, pharmacokinetics, and pain management services as well as participate in leadership and professional organizations, indigent care clinic, quality improvement, formulary management, medication use evaluation, interdisciplinary committees, professional writing, and teaching/precepting. The Department of Pharmacy is also affiliated with Wayne State University which offers a teaching certificate program to our residents.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   Eligibility for Michigan licensure.College transcripts, letter of intent and curriculum vitae should be uploaded to PHORAS.
