The cardiology residency provides unique opportunities for residents to work alongside providers that have been involved in guideline recommendations such as the TIMI group. There is a diverse selection of rotations that allow the resident to gain exposure to the different facets of cardiology pharmacy. In addition to the 10 bed CCU and 20 bed cardiac surgery ICU, there is a pharmacist-driven hemostatic antithrombotic stewardship program, a heart transplant and ventricular assist device program, and a virtual heart failure clinic program. There are opportunities to work in academia in addition to traveling and presenting research at the ACC scientific sessions.
