UMass Memorial Medical Center provides Central and Western Massachusetts with a full range of health care services including serving as the region's tertiary/quaternary care referral center. As the academic hub of UMass Memorial Health Care, our Medical Center includes three interrelated facilities on separate campuses (Memorial, university and Hahnemann Campuses) all within a few miles of each other. In addition, our patients receive care at our community-based physician practices, ambulatory clinics, home health and hospice programs, and rehabilitation and behavioral health services. The Medical Center offers a full complement of sophisticated technology and support services, providing the region with specialists renowned for their work in areas such as cancer, cardiology, emergency medicine, children's medical services including an internationally recognized newborn intensive care unit, and women's health. UMass Memorial Medical Center is accredited by the American College of Surgeons as the only designated Level I trauma center for adults and children in Central Massachusetts. The University Campus is home to the new Duddie Massad Emergency and Trauma Center and LifeFlight, New England's first hospital-based air ambulances. The Memorial Campus houses the region's only Level III Newborn Intensive Care Unit. The Medical Center has developed a range of services previously unavailable in the region. A comprehensive transplant program includes liver, kidney, pancreas and bone marrow transplantation. Advanced laser technology, off-pump cardiac bypass surgery, minimally invasive surgical techniques, the region's most advanced and active cardiac cath labs, and sophisticated breast care center all enhance the reputation of UMass Memorial Medical Center. Our Medical Center and its parent organization, UMass Memorial Health Care, are the clinical partner of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Our network of care includes four community hospitals: UMass Memorial-Clinton Hospital, and UMass Memorial- Wing Memorial Hospital. Each UMass Memorial Hospital, including its flagship Medical Center, is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
