Residency Special Features:   This specialty residency provides comprehensive experiences in oncology pharmacy practice. Experiences include providing pharmaceutical care to inpatient and outpatient (adult and pediatric) hematology/oncology patients, investigational drug services, palliative care, and a variety of elective rotations including BMT. Teaching opportunities include didactic and small-group problem based teaching at the University of Rhode Island, School of Pharmacy. The resident will be directed in skills critical to patient care, communication and leadership within a multi-disciplinary health care team. Research project required.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   Pharm.D. degree, eligibility for RI licensure, completion of pharmacy practice residency (PGY-1), personal on-site interview, letter of intent, three letters of recommendation, and one example of a project (e.g. case presentation with discussion, drug use evaluation, didactic lecture, etc.) completed during PGY-1 residency program.
