Residency Special Features:   The Pharmacy Residency is a 1 year, PGY1 residency program that offers core experiences in pharmacy practice, drug information/medication management, administration, internal medicine, critical care, solid organ transplant, emergency medicine, pediatrics, and transitions of care. Elective rotations are available in core rotations, as well as behavioral health, infectious diseases, corporate administration, and pharmacy billing and reimbursement. The pharmacy resident routinely participates in various hospital committees, clinical initiatives, educational programs, and other leadership and direct patient care projects. They are expected to complete a research project and present their results at national and local pharmacy meetings. Other activities include P&T and Medication Safety Committee, educational presentations, and serving as preceptor for PharmD students. Residents will also have the opportunity to participate in a leadership forum as well as a teaching certificate program offered with Rutgers University Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy to strengthen their skills in presenting lectures and precepting students.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   PharmD or equivalent experience, must hold a valid New Jersey license or have taken the NAPLEX licensure and MPJE for NJ prior July 1, curriculum vitae, letter of intent, college transcripts, and three letters of recommendation should be sent to the site by January 11.
