This 12-month PGY1 program is focused on community pharmacy practice, leadership and education. Core rotational experiences include medication therapy management, specialty pharmacy, immunizations, new service development and evaluation, primary care, diabetes management, employee wellness, management, teaching and learning, and traditional dispensing. Residents who complete the program will be prepared to obtain advanced certification including board certification and PGY2 training. Graduates will be qualified to function in community, ambulatory care or academic environments

This residency provides a unique balance of community, ambulatory care, leadership and academia to develop residents into well rounded outpatient pharmacists. The teaching certificate and affiliation with Wegmans School of Pharmacy will prepare residents for precepting pharmacy learners at all levels or teaching in a classroom setting. The flexible design and electives allow customization of the program to meet the resident's career goals and interests.
