Maimonides is surrounded by the 2.5 million residents of Brooklyn and serves and incredibly varied patient population. More than 67 languages are spoken at Maimonides with representation of many different cultures. Given the diversity of our patients, Maimonides residents have the benefit of first hand experience with a broad range of pathology not available at other training centers. Our patients are a decade older on average than those seen in other urban Emergency Departments and reflect what others will be seeing in ten years. It is the acuity of our patients, the support of our surrounding communities, and the dedication of our faculty that distinguish us among other programs in nation.
