Residency Special Features:   The PGY1 pharmacy practice residency gives in-depth experiences in a broad range of pharmacy practice including, administration, patient safety, internal medicine, critical care, emergency medicine, antimicrobial stewardship, neonatal intensive care, pediatrics, pharmacokinetics, ambulatory care, oncology, and geriatrics. Residents present formal lectures, in-services and prepare a major project. Certification in one of the following areas is also offered: teaching, medication safety, or pain management.  The resident also serves as preceptor for pharmacy clerkship students during some rotations. The goal of the residency is to develop future leaders in pharmacy practice.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   Pharm. D. or equivalent experience and eligibility for licensure in Pennsylvania by August 1. Academic transcript, curriculum vitae, and 3 letters of recommendation are required.

Site Special Features:   Moses Taylor Hospital is a community teaching health care facility in Northeastern Pennsylvania affiliated with The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education. MTH services include medical, orthopedic and general surgery, 12 bed ICU, oncology center, inpatient geriatric psychiatry . MTH was the first hospital in the nation to receive Perinatal Care Certification by The Joint Commission for care of mother and baby before, during, and after childbirth, including a 15 bed neonatal ICU.  MTH is also a Pediatric Center of Excellence, staffed by pediatric hospitalists affiliated with Penn State Children's Hospital.  Additionally, MTH is recognized as a Primary Stroke Center and Chest Pain Center.
