Residency Special Features:   *NMS Code 173013 - a 12-month PGY1 pharmacy residency with a focus in family medicine and commitment to continue on to a 12-month PGY2 family medicine pharmacy residency; NMS Code 173022 - a 12-month PGY1 pharmacy residency with a focus in geriatric pharmacy and commitment to continue on to a 12-month PGY2 geriatric pharmacy residency. This residency provides opportunities to provide direct patient care through Medication Management Service (focusing on diabetes, polypharmacy, and anticoagulation management), lead diabetes group visits, and participate in weekly faculty development seminars. The 2 year design of the residency (First year-PGY1 pharmacy, Second year-Family Medicine or Geriatrics) allows flexibility to tailor the experience to the resident's interests. The resident will be part of the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy/UPMC Health System Pharmacy Residency Program.
