Residency Special Features:   

This PGY1 Residency has required experiences in PACT (primary care), Internal Medicine, Anticoagulation, Administration, Long-term Care, Pain and Palliative Care, as well as a wide variety of elective opportunities. The program is customized for each resident based on their interests and skills to assure that each resident gets an optimal experience to prepare them for clinical positions, fellowships or PGY2 programs.

The North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System is a comprehensive and integrated health care system that provides quality clinical programs and services to veterans. We offer primary health services as well as highly specialized, technologically advanced clinical care. The system includes two hospitals, three large satellite clinics, and six small community-based outpatient clinics. Residents will spend the majority of their year at the Lake City VA Medical Center with some required experiences at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville. Electives are available at other facilities within our healthcare system as well.
