Manatee Memorial Hospital (MMH) provides advanced level PGY1 training in an acute care community-based hospital. Residents are part of the graduate medication education (GME) program and will develop skills to successfully provide evidence-based, patient-centered medication therapy management through a variety of practice experiences, with an emphasis in cardiology, critical care, infectious diseases, internal medicine, medication safety, nutritional therapy, and pharmacokinetics. Interdisciplinary rounding will occur in both a community practice model and with GME teaching faculty.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:

MMH is located on the banks of the Manatee River, is a Certified Stroke Center, Chest Pain Center, and offers advanced cardiovascular services. The pharmacy department is decentralized, including an OR satellite, and also provides support for an outpatient infusion center. Pharmacists precept students and interns from several colleges and schools of pharmacy. PGY1 residents will be part of the GME program which includes AOA and ACGME accredited programs in Family Medicine and Internal Medicine.
