Residency Special Features:   The residency will be structured to meet the goals and objectives of the individual resident, while meeting the ASHP requirements for a PGY2 residency in Emergency Medicine. The goal of this PGY2 emergency medicine residency is to train pharmacy practitioners who will be qualified to work in a variety of emergency medicine or critical care environments. The resident will participate in a Graduate Certificate program through The University of Georgia receiving a Graduate Certificate upon completion.  Teaching opportunities will include precepting PGY1 residents and PharmD students and didactic teaching via either distance learning or on-campus instruction.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   U.S. Citizenship and completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency. Transcript(s), CV and a minimum of three letters of recommendation are required for consideration.  Licensure in the State of Georgia must be obtained.

Site Special Features:   St. Joseph's/Candler is located in historic Savannah, GA, just a short drive away from the beach. This emergency medicine specialty residency is also affiliated with the University of Georgia which provides the resident with a Graduate Certificate program and unique teaching opportunities. Our trauma rotation experience is offered offsite at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, GA.
