Residency Special Features:   
The AAMC Pharmacy will welcome its second class of pharmacy residents to the PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency Program in July 2019. The 12-month candidate ASHP PGY1 program is designed to prepare pharmacists for general and specialized clinical pharmacy practice. Individuals completing the program will be able to provide direct patient care in a broad range of both inpatient and outpatient clinical practice settings.

Pharmacy experiential settings include:  Acute Inpatient Care, Women’s and Children’s Pharmacy, Ambulatory and Employee/Outpatient Pharmacy, Anticoagulation Clinic, Outpatient Infusion Center Pharmacy and Ambulatory Primary Care Pharmacy Services. These expanded services provide many opportunities to gain experience within a variety of therapeutic areas including intensive care, internal medicine, oncology, infectious disease, geriatrics, and pediatrics.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:    
  • PharmD from an accredited college of pharmacy
  • Licensed or eligible for Pharmacist Licensure in Maryland
  • Maryland licensure to be obtained within 60 days of the start date; Maximum 90 days.
  • Application documents submitted via ASHP Matching Program by December 31, 2018, to include:
    • Letter of intent/personal statement
    • Curriculum vitae
    • Transcripts from pharmacy school (undergraduate transcripts not required)
    • Three professional references
    • One personal reference
  • On-site interview.
  • Available to begin program during the last week in June 2019.
