Residency Special Features:   The primary focus of the PGY1 program is to develop the resident into a competent clinical practitioner who will contribute to positive patient outcomes. The purpose of NHPMC PGY1 pharmacy residency program is to prepare its pharmacy residency graduates to assume positions as clinical staff pharmacists working in the acute care setting or to pursue second year post-graduate training for residents who desire to work in specialized areas of pharmacy practice. NHPMC is part of a corporate pharmacy system in a community non-teaching hospital setting that provides residents with opportunities well integrated into patient care and strong committee involvement with strengths in internal medicine, cardiology, oncology, and pediatrics.
