Residency Special Features:   The Emergency Department (ED) is a 65-bed, Level 3 Trauma Center that has approximately 90,000 patient visits annually. The department includes designated areas for pediatric, pediatric psychiatry, and adult psychiatry patients. Clinical pharmacy services are provided by a decentralized emergency medicine pharmacist 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. The resident will be part of the multidisciplinary team providing pharmaceutical care through prospective order review, antibiotic recommendations, service on the trauma/priority response team, provision of real-time drug information, and direct consultation with physicians. Ample opportunities available to teach and co-precept pharmacy students and PGY1 residents. Additionally, the residency offers rotations focusing on pediatric emergency medicine, emergency medicine precepting, critical care, trauma, toxicology, infectious diseases, management, pre-hospital care.
