Residency Special Features:   To provide postgraduate training for hospital pharmacy practitioners, who plan to continue on to community hospital pharmacy practice or a post graduate year two training program of their choice. The successful resident will have a command of hospital pharmacy best practices related to a broad range of clinical, managerial, leadership, and medication safety topics that would make them a strong candidate for their next career choice. The PGY1 Residency Program provides training for pharmacy practitioners, enabling them to make efficient and knowledgeable decisions regarding patient care. Residents will have a wide variety of experiences, working with our hospitalists, cardiologist, surgeons, emergency medicine physicians, and oncologists during their rotations. Residents will also have many opportunities to work with hospital safety committees, informatics, and administration projects.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   Graduate of an ACPE accredited college of pharmacy, eligible for North Carolina licensure, pharmacy college transcripts, curriculum vitae, letter of intent, three letters of recommendation, and completed application on PhORCAS.
