Residency Special Features:   Program provides necessary skills for graduates to provide pharmaceutical care across the spectrum of cardiovascular diseases. By focusing on direct patient care and cardiology fundamentals through teaching, precepting, research, and practice management the program develops an autonomous pharmacy professional. Pharmacy preceptors collaborate with physicians of CHMG HeartCare and LeBauer Cardiovascular Research Foundation to provide a broad range of practice opportunities across the spectrum of cardiovascular diseases including Heart Failure, Stroke, Clinical Research and Cardiothoracic surgery. The Department of Pharmacy provides clinical clerkships for Doctor of Pharmacy candidates from the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   Pharm.D., degree with PGY1 Pharmacy Residency, an acceptable academic record, and a high degree of professional motivation. Apply using the Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service (PhORCAS). Three references should be completed with writers providing feedback in 75% of the available comment fields – a separate recommendation letter is not required.
