Residency Special Features:   

The PGY1 residency at NHRMC develops a pharmacy generalist with a focus in direct patient care, teaching, and leadership focus. Residents will experience core areas of practice including: internal medicine, critical care, ambulatory care, and pediatrics, integrated practice, transitions of care, and practice management. Electives are also available to tailor to the resident's interest and an optional teaching and learning curriculum is available in conjunction with Campbell University School of Pharmacy. Residents teach pharmacy students and other health care practitioners, serve on hospital committees, and participate in several writing and research activities.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   

Applicants must submit a CV, 3 letters of reference (at least 2 from direct patient care preceptors letter of intent, and pharmacy school transcript via The Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service (PhORCAS) by January 1st of each year. Please include the following information in your letter of intent: experience in rounding and non-rounding patient care situations, and the maximum number of patients you were responsible for on a rotation. Applicants must be graduates or candidates for graduation of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy or have a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) certificate from the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP). Candidates must be eligible for NC pharmacy licensure. NHRMC residency programs do not sponsor visas. Please refer to http://www.nhrmc.org/pharmacyresidency for additional information.
