Multisite: The medical center is comprised of four hospitals, Ashley River Tower, Children's Hospital, Institute of Psychiatry, and University Hospital. Outpatient facilities include the Hollings Cancer Center, Ashley River Tower Clinics, Rutledge Tower Clinics, Family Medicine Center and affiliated faculty practice ambulatory care centers. The Department of Pharmacy Services provides service to patients on a 24-hour basis through multiple inpatient and ambulatory (outpatient) pharmacies.
Residency Special Features:   Required Rotations: Orientation, Emergency Medicine (6 months), Internal Medicine, Longitudinal Emergency Responder Experience, Longitudinal Toxicology Experience, Longitudinal Research Experience, Longitudinal Staffing Experience in Emergency Medicine. Additionally the resident will select 2 critical care opportunities: Medical Intensive Care, Medical-Surgical Intensive Care, Surgical Critical Care-Trauma, Surgical Critical Care-Neurosurgery, Surgical Critical Care-Cardiothoracic Surgery. The resident will also select two elective rotations: Any of the critical care opportunities, Pediatric Intensive Care, Cardiology, Infectious Diseases, Psychiatry. Our program also offers participation in the Academic Preparation Program (teaching certificate).
