Multisite: The MUSC Medical Center is comprised of four hospitals: Ashley River Tower, Children's Hospital, Institute of Psychiatry, and University Hospital. Organizationally, MUSC is set up in service lines: Children and Women's, Digestive Diseases, Heart and Vascular, Musculoskeletal, Neurosciences, Oncology, Transplant; and Trauma, Critical and Acute Care. Numerous outpatient facilities include the Ashley River Tower, Rutledge Tower Clinics, Family Medicine Center and affiliated faculty practice ambulatory care centers.
Residency Special Features:   This residency is designed to ensure development of knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to provide quality care to pediatric patients. Rotations include general pediatrics (1), cardiothoracic surgery, surgery, hematology/oncology, neonatal (2) and pediatric intensive care (2), teaching, and electives (2-3). A longitudinal ambulatory care experience is required. The resident will provide all facets of clinical pharmacy services, including drug distribution, clinical and didactic teaching, complete a project, and participate in the Pediatric Clinical On-Call Service. Special Requirements for Acceptance:   Class rank (desired but not mandatory) and three letters of reference in Phorcas (letters should be written by current year's supervisor/rotation preceptors). Please include Advanced Practice Pharmacy Experiences (i.e. clerkships) on your CV or as supplemental information, including how long were your advanced practice pharmacy experiences (weeks) and typical patient load. During the on-site interview a 30-minute presentation is required. This presentation should be centered around a patient case.
