Residency Special Features:   The Ralph H. Johnson VAMC offers a 12-month PGY2 Health System Administration residency. The goal of the residency is to develop the resident’s skills necessary to conceptualize, implement, and evaluate pharmacy services. Education and training will involve practice sites in the Inpatient, Outpatient, Decentralized Ambulatory Care Services as well as time at the Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy. Additional focus areas will include pharmacy automation, pharmacy informatics and quality assurance. Research and continuing educational activities are encouraged and are made available to the resident.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   Pharm.D. degree from an accredited school of pharmacy, completion of an accredited PGY1- Pharmacy Practice Residency, U.S. citizenship, licensure in one of the States or territories of the US or District of Columbia, application, curriculum vitae, academic transcripts, and 3 letters of reference.

Site Special Features:   Charleston is a beautifully historic city on the South Carolina coast. The VA Medical Center is a teaching and research institution affiliated with the Medical University of South Carolina. We are a training site for health professionals of many disciplines. We provide clinical rotation sites for pharmacy students from the SC College of Pharmacy, MUSC and USC Campuses, South University College of Pharmacy, Mercer University, University of GA, and University of Florida.
