Residency Special Features:   CJW Medical Center is a dynamic two-campus facility. With 748 beds, it is one of the largest medical centers in central Virginia. Our facility specializes in Cardiac Care, Oncology, Neurology/Neurosurgery, Psychiatry and Critical Care for adults, pediatrics and neonates. The Pharmacy Practice Residency at CJW Medical Center is a one-year training program for pharmacists designed to provide personalized instruction in all aspects of medication management. Through rigorous training in all aspects of medication usage, as well as verbal and written communication, this residency offers the opportunity to apply patient management skills in an environment that allows graduates to practice pharmacy with the highest integrity and service to their patients. Rotations are flexible and seek to build on individual interests. Opportunities for teaching, travel, extensive networking, and learning advanced automated pharmaceutical dispensing technology are also available. All required rotations are based at CJW Medical Center, but electives may be taken at other facilities in the HCA network. Special Requirements for Acceptance:   Complete PhORCAS application including pharmacy school transcript, CV, formal letter of interest, and 3 references; eligibility for Virginia licensure.  Drug screen required upon beginning of employment.
