Residency Special Features:   This PGY2 residency offers specialty training in emergency medicine, trauma, toxicology and critical care. The resident receives an academic appointment at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Pharmacy. Scholarly activity, including clinical research, completion of 2 publications, didactic lectures, and a continuing education lecture is required. The resident will participate in the On-Call Program, serve as co-preceptors for students and PGY1 residents and participate in the Critical Care and Toxikon Consortium Conferences.

Site Special Features:   The University of Illinois Medical Center at Chicago is the largest state owned medical center in Illinois and is located on Chicago's Near West Side. The Emergency Department provides treatment for approximately 55,000 adult and pediatric patients annually. The ED serves as a training site for medical and pharmacy resident and students. The ED is affiliated with the Toxikon Consortium, which serves as medical backup for the Illinois Poison Center.
