IU Health is the largest hospital system in Indiana and the fourth largest in the nation, based upon the number of beds. IU Health Bloomington serves the south central region of Indiana, and holds the region's only Primary Stroke Center and Level 3 Trauma Center certifications. Pharmacy services are decentralized, and pharmacists spend considerable time performing direct patient care activities. Pharmacists are actively involved in prescribing by protocol. Affiliations exist with Butler University, Purdue University, and Manchester University Colleges of Pharmacy.
