Residency Special Features:   Parkview Regional Medical Center provides medical services to patients in Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan. Flexibility in rotation schedules allows the resident to fulfill individual needs and achieve personalized goals. Required acute care rotations include: internal medicine, critical care (surgical/neuro/medical) and cardiology. Residents have a required longitudinal ambulatory care experience in the anticoagulation therapy unit. Numerous elective rotations are available, including: pediatrics, medical ICU, surgery, neurology, oncology, infectious diseases, NICU, administration, research, medication safety, drug information at Manchester University College of Pharmacy, pain and palliative care, and various other ambulatory care clinics, such as the diabetes or primary care clinic. Didactic teaching for pharmacy students is available with participation in The Indiana Pharmacy Teaching Certificate (IPTeC) Program. Rotation specific activities will include, but are not limited to: pharmacokinetic dosing, nutrition, targeted drug therapy monitoring, cardiac arrest team participation, anticoagulation, antimicrobial stewardship, and precepting Doctorate of Pharmacy students. The resident will also be an active participant in the development of new patient-focused services and clinical pathways as they are developed.
