Residency Special Features:   This specialty residency is a one-year program designed to develop a clinical practitioner with skills in emergency medicine, critical care, and toxicology. The resident will practice in our Level 1 trauma center with 340 adult beds. The emergency department has 92 beds, pharmacy services 24/7, and more than 100,000 visits per year. Experience will also be gained from rotations in MICU, SICU, toxicology, burn intensive care, neurotrauma, cardiology, and the psychiatric crisis center. The resident will be required to complete a research project and participate in nursing and pharmacy student education.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   Pharm.D. degree, ASHP-accredited pharmacy practice residency or equivalent experience, eligibility for Michigan licensure.

The resident will practice at Detroit Receiving Hospital, which is a Level-I trauma center with 340 adult beds. The emergency department has approximately 100 beds with more than 80,000 visits per year and pharmaceutical services are provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Experience can also be gained from rotations in burn ICU, CCU, MICU, neurotrauma/neurosurgery ICU, pediatrics ICU, SICU and toxicology.
