Residency Special Features:   The PGY2 critical care residency is a one-year commitment designed to provide post-graduate practical experience in the provision of pharmaceutical care to critically ill patients. University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center is an Academic Medical Center affiliated with Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, with 1032 beds and 163 ICU beds. Required rotations include the cardiac, emergency medicine, medical, neuroscience, pediatric, and cardiothoracic/surgical intensive care units. Elective rotations include solid organ transplant, infectious diseases, and neonatal intensive care unit. Residents are required to complete a research project, medication utilization review, assist with pharmacy student and staff education, and participate in various journal club and topic discussions throughout the year.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   Pharm.D. from an ACPE accredited school/college. Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY-1 pharmacy practice residency or equivalent experience. Eligibility for licensure in the State of Ohio, academic transcripts, curriculum vitae, 3 letters of recommendation, and a letter of intent.
