Residency Special Features:   The PGY1 pharmacy practice residency is a one-year commitment designed to provide post-graduate practical experience in the provision of pharmaceutical care. The system's 1,032-bed tertiary medical center, UH Cleveland Medical Center, is the primary affiliate of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. This academic medical center includes UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital, among the nation's best children's hospitals, UH Seidman Cancer Center, part of the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center and UH MacDonald Women's Hospital, Ohio's only hospital for women. Our goal is to train each resident to be a competent and confident provider of comprehensive pharmaceutical care. The resident will demonstrate the ability to manage patient care and achieve optimal drug therapy outcomes. In addition to patient care, residents will be involved in pharmacy research and providing education to pharmacists, students, other health care professionals. Throughout the residency experience, each resident will develop individual and professional skills that will help mold them into a highly marketable clinical practitioner. Required rotations include: Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Infectious Diseases, Intensive Care, Drug Information/leadership, Oncology/Solid Organ Transplant and Pharmacy Research. Elective rotations include: additional critical care rotations, Ambulatory Care, Pediatrics and System Leadership.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   PharmD from an ACPE accredited school/college. Eligibility for licensure in the State of Ohio, academic transcripts, curriculum vitae, 3 letters of recommendation, and letter of intent.
