Residency Special Features:   This residency program focuses on individualized attention and professional development throughout the year by emphasizing core areas of pharmacy practice (ambulatory care, general medicine, psychiatry, geriatrics, and administration), while customizing the learning experiences and electives to meet the residents needs. Longitudinal experiences available at the site include home based primary care, drug information, mental health intensive care management, spinal cord injury, anticoagulation, and formulary management. The Chillicothe VAMC is affiliated with five schools of pharmacy in Indiana and Ohio and has a research affiliation with the University of Cincinnati.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   U.S. citizenship; current pharmacist licensure or eligibility for licensure in any state; Pharm.D. or equivalent experience; letter of intent, completed application; curriculum vitae; college transcripts; three letters of recommendations.

Site Special Features:   The Chillicothe VAMC is located 30 miles south of Columbus, OH and provides acute and chronic psychiatric services, primary and secondary medical services, and a wide range of ambulatory care services in five outpatient clinics to serve veterans in southern Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia. In addition to training pharmacy students and residents, the Chillicothe VAMC serves as a training site for nursing, audiology, physician assistant, dental, and social worker students, along with residency training in optometry.
