Residency Special Features:   The residency gives in-depth experience in a broad area of pharmacy practice including nutritional support, pharmacokinetics, drug information, antimicrobial stewardship, internal medicine, cardiology, critical care, transitions of care, oncology, pediatrics, and administration. Residents present formal lectures, in-services and prepare a major project. The resident also serves as preceptor for pharmacy students during some rotations. The residency program has a goal the training of pharmaceutical care generalists and the development of future leaders in pharmacy practice.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   The applicant must possess a Pharm.D. degree from an ACPE accredited college or school of Pharmacy and be eligible for licensure in Alabama. The required components of the application that must be submitted include a letter of intent, curriculum vitae, 3 references, a pharmacy school transcript, and a photograph of the applicant.

Site Special Features:   Huntsville Hospital is the flagship institution of the HH Health System and is one of the largest not-for-profit community hospital systems in the nation serving a population of approximately one million people in northern Alabama and south-central Tennessee Huntsville Hospital's footprint in Madison County is comprised of 941 licensed beds, including ten ICUs, numerous specialty services, and a state-of-the art Pharmacy Department.
