Residency Special Features:   Rotations include surgery, internal medicine, critical care, practice management, infectious disease, long-term acute care, cardiology, emergency medicine, and pulmonary. Longitudinal experiences are available in drug information, hospital practice, nutrition, anticoagulation, pharmacokinetics, teaching, and research. A relationship with the University of Kentucky allows teaching experience through precepting of students and participation in a certificate program in scholarship and teaching which exposes residents to teaching philosophies, innovative teaching techniques, and accreditation standards. Residents complete a research project, present findings at a regional/national conference, and submit a manuscript for publication. The program gives residents the flexibility to pursue their personal interests while becoming a well-rounded practitioner.
