Baptist Health Lexington offers a variety of well-rounded learning experiences in the areas of Internal Medicine, Critical Care (Medical ICU and Post-CT Surgery), multiple Ambulatory Care sites, Infectious Diseases, Oncology, Informatics, and Administration. Longitudinal experiences include central pharmacy distribution, patient education, medication reconciliation, and drug information, as well as participation in the Pharmacy & Therapeutics and Medication Safety committees. Regular topic discussions and board certification preparation will reinforce clinical experiential learning. Emphasis is placed on life balance and individualized experiences. Residents will be required to complete a longitudinal research project with results presented at a regional residency conference. Precepting of PY4 students is encouraged, and residents will also take part in a Leadership Certificate Program, designed to develop them as purposeful and ethical servant leaders.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   

Applicants must be US Citizens, have PharmD degree, and be eligible for KY Pharmacist Licensure. The application process will be online via PhORCAS and will include verified transcripts, letter of intent, CV, and references. This program offers a unique learning experience in a private, community hospital that has integrated robotics, bedside barcode scanning, physician order entry, and a complement of related electronic documentation tools. The department utilizes central distribution with decentralized clinical services on first and second shift, as well as dispensing satellites in the Operating Room and Outpatient Infusion Center. There are approximately 150 open research projects within the facility supported by a strong and active IRB. BHL hosts learning experiences for students from multiple colleges of pharmacy.
