Residency Special Features:   The resident will function as a member of the corporate pharmacy leadership team responsible for oversight of hospital pharmacy services across the organization.  They will complete rotations intended to build leadership skills needed to lead multi-site hospital pharmacy operations; including: Medication Use Policy, Quality & Regulatory Compliance, Clinical Program Development, Finance, Supply Chain, Informatics, and Human Resources.  Additionally, they will have the opportunity to network with senior health-system executives while participating in the Kindred Executive Fellowship Program.  This leadership development program is targeted at high potential individuals who can be developed, mentored, and grown to become leaders within the organization.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   PharmD from ACPE accredited school, Completion of ASHP accredited PGY1 program, active pharmacist licensure in any US state and eligible for Kentucky licensure within 90 days of hire.

Site Special Features:   Kindred Healthcare currently operates 74 Long-Term Acute Care and 22 Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospitals across 21 states.  The resident’s primary practice site will be the Kindred support center, located in Louisville, Kentucky.  Overnight travel will be required as the resident will work closely with both corporate and hospital based multi-disciplinary teams to execute on pharmacy service line strategic goals intended to promote safe, cost-effective, and regulatory compliant medication use throughout the organization.  Specific goals for the program are centered on developing advanced skills in executive management, leadership, multi-site pharmacy practice, networking, and applied research.
