Residency Special Features:   This program provides diverse experiences in cardiology to prepare the resident to function as a clinical specialist operating at the top of his/her license in either an inpatient or outpatient setting. Sample rotations include pharmacotherapy clinic, inpatient cardiology consult service, CCU, inpatient HF/transplant, and more. The resident will prepare a major research project and participate in other scholarly activities, precept pharmacy students in a layered learning model, and have an adjunct faculty appointment.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   U.S. citizen (VA requirement), completion of a PGY-1 ASHP accredited or pending accreditation program, and submission of an application package in PhORCAS.

Site Special Features:   This PGY2 residency provides experience in inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular care. The PGY2 resident will have opportunity to train in a large residency program of 8 PGY1 reisdents, 2 ambulatory care PGY2 residents, and2 psychiatry residents. Teaching and and precepting responsibilities are available through academic agreements with multiple schools of pharmacy, including University of Tennessee, Union University, Lipscomb University.
