Residency Special Features:   The pharmacy residency at Salina Regional provides experience in a variety of practice settings and allows for flexibility to meet individual needs and preferences. Pharmacists provide patient care in family practice, ambulatory care, internal medicine, critical care, post-surgical, and emergency medicine/trauma. Residents will also have the opportunity to gain experience in pharmacy management and informatics. Opportunities exist for experiential and didactic teaching of healthcare professionals as well as mentoring of pharmacy students.

The resident will receive paid time off, similar to full time staffing pharmacists. membership to the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and the Kansas Council of Health-System Pharmacists are provided. Travel is provided to one national meeting as well as two regional meetings.
Special Requirements for Acceptance:   Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited program, eligibility for Kansas licensure, letter of intent, 3 letters of reference, CV, pharmacy school transcript, and an onsite interview.

Site Special Features:   Salina Regional Health Center is a comprehensive, acute care hospital that serves the city of Salina and all of north-central Kansas. Inpatient services include internal medicine, oncology, cardiology, trauma, pulmonology, cardiovascular surgery, neurology, pediatrics, labor and delivery, orthropedics, urology, GI, general surgery, nephrology, and behavioral health. Salina Regional serves as primary teaching site for the KU School of Medicine - Salina, Smoky Hill Family medicine residency, as well as pharmacy students from the University of Kansas, Creighton University and the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Salina Regional is also a teaching site for students from many other healthcare professions
