Residency Special Features:   Stormont Vail Health (SVH) PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program gives experience in the following practice areas: emergency medicine, trauma, pediatrics, critical care (neonatal, surgical and medical intensive care), antibiotic stewardship, internal medicine, cardiology, administration, medication safety, infectious disease, pharmacokinetics, anticoagulation, research, surgery, oncology, palliative care, psychiatry (pediatric, adult & geriatric) and pain management. Residents will present formal lectures, in-services and conduct a residency project. Residents will also assist in teaching student rotations from University of Kansas and other area pharmacy schools.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   PharmD or equivalent, letter of intent, academic transcript, curriculum vitae, 3 letters of recommendation and eligibility for licensure in Kansas.

Site Special Features:   Stormont Vail Health (SVH) has been caring for northeast Kansas for more than 125 years. SVHC is an approved ACS level II Trauma center, Level III NICU and other JCAHO accredited programs (Stroke, MI and Total Joint center). SVHC has various multidisciplinary rounds including Intensivists (MICU, SICU, PICU and NICU) and psychiatry (pediatrics, adults and geriatrics). SVH also has 24/7 ED/Trauma pharmacy coverage.
