Residency Special Features:   The Residency Mission is to provide our residents with experiences that develop the knowledge, skills, and values to support excellent pharmaceutical care for the patients they serve at Lawrence Memorial Hospital and throughout their career. Residents gain a solid clinical foundation in internal medicine, post-surgical care, cardiology, oncology, emergency medicine, and critical care. A large emphasis of this program is placed on pharmacy management, medication safety, and teaching; intangibles necessary for a future in pharmacy leadership. Our residency offers a Teaching Certificate through the University of Missouri – Kansas City with opportunities to precept students from the University of Kansas, mentor students in our LMH Clinical Intern Program, teach didactic lectures, and present CE programming at regional professional meetings. Additionally, international opportunities are available to interested and eligible residents including clinical and academic experience at the University of Khon Kaen in Thailand or as the Pharmacist in Charge for a medical mission to Kenya, Africa.
Fringe Benefits:   The benefits package is the same as other full-time staff including position-competitive salary, 22 days of paid personal time, meal discounts, and health insurance, with life and disability insurance benefits available. Travel reimbursement is provided to 1 national and 2 regional professional meetings.
Special Requirements for Acceptance:   Pharm.D. degree from an ACPE-approved program, eligibility for licensure in Kansas, a completed application including curriculum vitae, academic transcripts and 3 letters of reference.

Site Special Features:   Lawrence Memorial Hospital is a 174-bed public, non-profit, regional hospital serving the community of Lawrence, Kansas and surrounding areas. Hospital services include internal medicine, critical care, labor and delivery, obstetrics and gynecology, pulmonology, infectious disease, urology, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, cardiology with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization. LMH has an active hospitalist group, busy emergency department, and progressive oncology center.
