Residency Special Features:   The resident will have specific patient care responsibilities and will also learn how clinical pharmacy services are implemented and managed. Rotations allow residents to further explore areas of particular interest, including critical care, oncology, cardiology, and medicine. Elective rotations are available for pediatrics, psychiatry, hospice, epilepsy and emergency medicine. All residents are expected to complete a research project. Additional experiences include the P&T committee; quality assurance, ADR, and DUE activities;and involvement in department research projects.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   Pharm.D. degree, licensure (or eligibility) in Minnesota. Application submitted via PhoRCAS include curriculum vitae, three letters of recommendation, official transcripts, and letter of intent.

The pharmacy department emphasizes a decentralized approach to providing drug distribution and comprehensive clinical services. Clinical services include staff education, response to medical emergencies, TPN monitoring, drug information, and pharmacokinetic consultations.
